These photos are in part collected here for my own records, but I hope they can also be educational when others are pondering the changes they may see between chick fluff and adult feathers. They grow up so quickly...
0001
Born on St. Paddy's Day, I was very tempted to keep this little one, my first successful 2020 hatchling.
OUR SHETLAND EWES
Having a flock of sheep in the mountains was a childhood dream, and I'm closer than I ever thought I'd be. My small flock of Shetlands on Montana Mountain has brought me so much joy.
WILLOW
SPRING 2019 -
Ever the protector of our little flock, Willow almost didn't come home. I was planning to purchase two lambs--that's what my then-partner and I had agreed on--and it was to be Willow (then Daffodil) and Ivy. I was interested in Juniper (then Eggplant) but at that point, the breeder was going to keep her. I found out that Juniper was available when we arrived to pick up Ivy and Willow, and after much deliberation, I opted to bring home Juniper instead of Willow.
After loading up the two, my then-partner and I decided that three wasn't too many, and we loaded Willow into the van, too. I am so happy to have her here.

MOCHA
SPRING 2020 -
bred by: Heather
Like the prior year, I was only supposed to come home with two sheep. Mocha's spotted little face was too sweet to resist. She's a lovely little lamb who started out a bit more shy, but is coming around.
