When Can Goberdoodle Puppies Go Home?
Why our puppies stay with us until at least 10 weeks—and how it helps them grow into confident, healthy companions.
Our Goberdoodle puppies are ready to join their new families at 10 weeks of age, once they are fully weaned and cleared by our veterinarian. While some breeders allow puppies to leave earlier, we believe waiting until 10–13 weeks gives them the best possible start in life.
Why Wait Until 10 Weeks?
The extra time with mom, littermates, and us provides many important benefits:
Stronger immune system — puppies stay with their mother long enough to receive crucial immune support while also beginning vaccinations.
Better social skills — play and interaction with littermates teaches bite inhibition, body language, and appropriate play.
Emotional development — pups build confidence and resilience during a critical stage of socialization, making them less prone to fear or anxiety later.
Early training foundation — during these weeks, we continue introducing them to new experiences, surfaces, and gentle handling, following ENS and Puppy Culture protocols.
Smoother transition — puppies who go home a bit older adapt more easily to new environments and families, having had extra time to mature.
By waiting until 10–13 weeks, our Goberdoodle puppies leave us healthier, more confident, and better prepared for their forever homes. This careful start helps set the stage for a happy life with their new families.
